With 35 years of experience in regulated banking and finance organizations, I’ve witnessed firsthand how compliance training is often reduced to short, intense bursts of activity—compliance-athons—while the rest of the year passes without meaningful engagement. This approach leaves organizations vulnerable and unprepared to face evolving threats.
Eight years ago, I co-founded a regulated fintech during a time of increasing cybersecurity threats. Bootstrapping with no budget, I had the responsibility to build the initial information security stance from the ground up. This foundational framework became the backbone of our company’s ability to protect its data, customers, and reputation.
That security stance enabled us to sign 40 Australian banks to our platform, complete dozens of third-party supply chain questionnaires, and meet regulatory standards such as APRA's CPS 234. Years later, the artefacts helped us achieve ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certifications, which were milestones accomplished through collaborative team efforts.
The challenges I faced during that time inspired me to create this startup—a modern reimagining of the tools and resources I wish I’d had back then. These tools and resources are designed to support businesses as they establish a viable information security stance, no matter their size or resources.
This startup is more than a business; it’s my contribution to helping organizations thrive in an increasingly interconnected world. By lowering the costs and barriers to information security, we aim to empower businesses to protect themselves, their supply chains, and their role as trusted corporate citizens in their customers’ ecosystems.
